Accountant

 

Offshore Virtual Assistants (OVA), a well-respected Australian Outsourcing company, is seeking highly organised and detail-oriented Accountants for our client, who is one of the largest international manufacturers of  Water Control Solutions. This role involves managing and overseeing day-to-day financial transactions, supporting monthly-end and year-end reporting, and ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial accuracy and deliver insights that inform strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and assist with payroll systems and assist the Senior Accountant with reconciliation or ad-hoc reporting.
  • Prepare and review general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal adjustments.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely invoicing and payments. 
  • Coordinate and execute month-end and year-end close activities, including financial statement preparation.
  • Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities; provide variance analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, income tax laws, GST/VAT, and other relevant legislation.
  • Support audit processes by providing schedules, analyses, and documentation.
  • Liaise with external advisors, including auditors, tax agents, and financial institutions.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within the finance function.
 
Qualifications and Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA student or qualified CPA 
  • Demonstrated continuing professional development in accounting standards and taxation is preferred

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Epicor, Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
  • Knowledge and experience in AU payroll processes
  • Strong analytical skills with an eye for accuracy and detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Sound understanding of Australian taxation laws, payroll, and superannuation requirements.
  • Collaborative mindset with stakeholder management capabilities.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of post-graduation experience in an industry accounting or audit role.
  • Experience working with Australian, Singapore, UK or New Zealand clients within a commercial accounting role in the manufacturing industry is recommended.
  •  Proven track record of managing full-cycle accounting processes.
  • Exposure to audit engagements and financial reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
